West central IL | You say that like it’s a bad thing. There’s something to be said for following generations who hold on or even increase the family land base. Most don’t, and end up selling out.
Let’s put it this way: let’s say you started with nothing (I don’t know your story at all) and at the end you’ve got 300 acres free and clear that you pass on to your heir. If he takes what you’ve got and when he’s towards his end and has 500 acres, are you going to say your son didn’t do anything, it was just all handed to him because he got a head start? | |
