Oliver1 - 2/28/2024 14:36 Reality speaks - 2/28/2024 10:09 The sale of $29,600/ac in NW Iowa just proved everything is great in Ag Economically. (never forget land value is a lagging indicator) The price of NW IA farm ground has very little to do with the price of corn and soybeans. I'd take a wild guess that high $ fat cattle and a pile of cattle manure were probably the driving factors for that sale.
Silage: 27 tpa ?? x 2,000 = 54,000 lb per acre
Liquid Manure: 5,000 gpa ??? x 8.5 = 42,500 lb per acre.
Dry Manure: I can't recall right now, but it's heavier than NH3 & dry, I'll guarantee that.
They all suck hauling to/from far away fields.
Either way, location, location, location.
