| We put a steel roof on our old farmhouse two years ago. Wife didn't want a "barn roof' so found a company that makes several different styles of metal roofing. We ended up going with a "shake shingle" metal roof as that was what the house originally had when it was built in 1904. Have had lots of compliments on it & have had people stop & inquire as to where we got it at. On ours they put down a heavy matting down over the old shingles, screwed 1 1/2x 1/12# boards to the roof then the metal sheets were screwed to thew stripping. Roof panels are 2'x4" and interlock like a shingle roof. Shingles that were on the house were the best that could be bought at the time, had a 35 yr guarantee, but only lasted 15 years. Unfortunately the company went out of business so the guarantee was worthless. Never bothered to price a regular shingles and will do our garage with the same metal shake roof when it comes time.
I was worried about noise from rain on the metal roofing but it's much quieter than the previous roof that was on the house.
As to your original question, yes Menards sells a rib roof for homes. Even know a couple people that have put it on their homes. But as I stated, wife didn't want something that looked like a barn roof so we didn't bother to price it. There's lots of companies selling metal roofing for homes. Like anything, you need to check out the quality of material & workmanship before deciding where to purchase.
