North End I-15 | Thanks for all the information . Need new roof and thinking of standing rib.
Current roof has been on since 1984 . Asphalt . Original roof also asphalt on house when built in 1955. I did the first two , gong to hire it done this time.
Insurance adjuster recommended removing all shingles first. No furring strips as it makes for a great para-sail in this part of the country.
Last time we pulled or re-nailed the ship lap . Any place a nail was coming up it was pulled and replaced with galvanized . any place a loose nail was but not able to easily pull was nailed over with galvanized nail with head over lapping the loose one.
Shingles were still good but hail beat the crud out of them. | |
