Coldwater, Michigan
On a Decra you start a lip piece at the bottom of the roof. That has screws in it. The first row of Decras cover the screws in the lip piece. Each shingle you attach locks into that lip which causes the screws to be covered. The shingle not only locks into that lip, but locks into the shingle beside the one you are installing. They make drip plates to go around vent pipes and such. It is worth the money to buy the drip plates so that the shingles lock into everything. The nice thing about the drip plate is if the water isn't stopped before it goes under the shingle, it is dumped onto the set of shingles on the next run down. Very well thought out system.
