Subject: RE: Did anyone listen to Market to market-Steins

mn
sold jersey/angus cross cattle last year in the meat
did not know anything about cab
got the check and 64% went cab and i got a bonus for them
sold 300hd of the same kind this past thursday
will tell you in three weeks how it goes

steins are getting ripped because the big colored cattle feed lots had to put holsteins in when they could not get colored cattle in the past
they have no clue how to feed a holstein correctly or the ability to follow instructions on how the market requires them to be fed
packers start getting all these poor quality steins in and no place to sell the miss fed cattle meat (poor quality) so they say enough is enough
if Holsteins are fed correctly you can contract them direct to the one packer thats left, at a pretty fair basis ,but you have to be willing listen to what the market and the packer demands
I feed whatever the market wants and how they want it as long as i can make a profit also
at the moment there is more holsteins going in than colored cattle in my pens
