Gary I know you do not like Holsteins because it drives the price of fat colored cattle down by putting more meat in the supply chain but I would bet you a case of your favorite beverage that a steak from a hard fed high energy Holstein who was never fed any roughage in its life and a choice angus steak you could not tell the difference in a blind taste test. I for one think that we Holstein feeders need to petition the cme to allow hard fed Holsteins to be a deliverable steer against the board

Very untrue Burdick-we have feed a lot of Holsteins-on a high energy ration-in my freezer I could never get the marbling like the colored cattle-I'm not saying you don't have choice-as the old time butcher told me -he has never seen cattle hang a carcass -like the ones he butchers from my lot very often-

I really wish there was a cme market for Holstein feds-it would probably level the playing field-there's lot's of steins feed in my area-I think it is all coming from the shortage of beef-when we hit the high dollar fats
a great stein market would be a plus for all cattle feeders-Didn't mean my post to be what you read into it-
