The "big oil" that most people refer to spun off their refinery capacity quite a while back because it was killing them. Example, ConocoPhillips spun off their refining arm into Phillips 66 several years ago. Why? Because high oil prices were crushing the refining margins. I'd say that right now is maybe the windfall years for the refining industry. We had our $7 corn, but nobody else is ever entitled to a windfall?
