Not to change the subject but I wonder is it better to practice on the same book until it is mastered or should you skip around and try new material?
The reason I ask is my wife is a teacher and told me a lot of the second graders could not read. I went in an helped out in the other second grade class and it seemed they could all read; that is until I skipped forward a couple of pages and none of the group could read the same phrases they were reading a couple of pages back. They were memorizing the pages, not really reading.
At that age our kids liked Dr. Seuss. | |
