It was so fine it went right through filters. Oil bath filters were a little better but would get overwhelmed with the amount of fine ash. Grandfather had a NH baler with a Wisconsin, by the end of that summer I remember him yanking the starter rope with the key off and the motor would spin and spin. Ash polished the rings right out of it.
