On a marginal moisture and nutrient year, yes it could be a bigger reduction. If the rest of the year is a great growing conditions, then likely not as much. Population and yield goal? If you plant higher populations like many do and lose a few random plants, you likely won't see any reduction. Less consistent emergence uniformity generally leads to less ear diameter uniformity which leads to higher harvest loses. If your in the 150-200 bu range you may not see much difference. 200-300 you probably will see more difference. Lots of variables. | |
