Central MN | Last spring was hot and dry for us. Planted 25 acres for silage towards the end of may. Corn came up very very erratically. Like there would be gaps of several feet in the row in spots. Finally started getting rains in June and everything did fill in but the late emerging corn was behind all year and caused the silage to be too wet. Half the corn was almost too dry and the late emerging was too wet so you'd think it'd even put but it didn't. Silo is still juicing a little bit now. There was good tonage out there but not as much corn as the other fields | |
