I think the salt fertilizer kills the life in the soil near the surface and it causes the soil to seal off, causing the rain to run off, accumulate, and erode topsoil. It would be interesting to do an infiltration test on organic soil right next to potash applied soil. I’ve seen the same thing happen with too much manure applied, but it seems to recover quicker. | |
