Southeast Colorado
Boy when those 9000 series Deere combines came out they were really something!

My best story is that I grew up neighboring a large ranch. Every fall they got a semi load of cow cake delivered. It came in 100 lb burlap bags. They'd always get a group of about 6 to 8 guys to help. I think when I turned about 15 years old I got invited into the group. It was kind of a status thing! We'd fill an old rail box car with them. Pretty dang exhausting.

One of the ranchers sons was a good 10 years older than me..........and a little lazy. He'd spend quite a bit of time counting the sacks.......LOL!

Brandings were always cool there too. We'd do around 800 or so in a day with no chutes. Lots of fun as a kid. It'd kill me today!
