IL near StL | Based on those acres, I'd say you more than deserve a bigger planter. I admire your drive to do that and I've always thought about what you can get through a machine to keep the overhead lower but for a long time I only thought about what I was pulling but not what I was pulling it with. Assuming your planter tractor will handle a bigger planter, you will have a little higher overhead cost with a bigger planter but you will put a bunch less hours on your tractor and you too. I don't know if you feel like you take a yield hit on the last acres that get planted every year but that adds up fast depending on the year, especially this year given bean prices.
