Subject: RE: Acres per foot of planter

Nw Iowa
That’s a lot. Here over 80 per ft on bean planter, 60 per ft on corn planter. We are going to try and get bean planter bigger next year. Nephew and SIL pretty much live in planters. We started beans same day as corn this yr
We have put a lot of technology on the corn planter so that is hi speed. Our goal for both crops is under 2 weeks. The curve ball is drown outs or poor emergence where things have to be replanted like 2018 and 2019 when season gets drug out, part of two crops growing, trying to scout the growing to take care of problems while trying to get new seed in the ground. Our goal is to get as much system tiled as possible. You can start earlier, things work better, emergence more even, better yields. The tile is the key to making everything work.
