In addition it seems that with conditions being drier than normal here I’m running into having a few opener bearing issues on the 1250 planter I’m running this spring.

it appears to me that on the lead discs the fine dirt/dust is working it’s way into the bearings from the backside(opposite the bearing cap) and ruining the bearing. It hasn’t been a big issue but I’ve had to change out a few discs before they were wore down because of the bearings being shot.  

i don’t think it’s the same issue for the OP, just pointing out that it's been a strange spring for me as well in that regard.
