$1750 is an absolute kick in the nuts , we already paid all expenses n feed to raise a $1000 dollar calf. They will be a **** ton of lost equity up here .
I agree with the first part of expenses. Not sure about the $1000 calves part. I would sell mine this fall for that if anyone is offering. The fat cattle market is brutal right now. Too much production they keep telling us as the packers are actually slowing chain speeds with choice cutout at $300/cwt. No collusion taking place. Back in the day the pack would have added a Sunday shift of the profits were a 1/4 of what they are now. |
