SW Minnesota | The video is 7 years old so most of the information is things I have heard before. To me the most interesting point is the direct connection between Ansel Keyes and the sugar industry. At best Keyes was a zealot who did every thing to sell his point of view. At the worst he was a hired gun who sold his soul to the sugar industry.
The last year or so I have often wondered what the livestock industry would look like if Keyes had never taken up his cause and animal fat consumption was viewed accurately. The last couple of hogs we have had butchered have been Berkshires because they are fat and taste better. If Keyes had never gone on his crusade the Berks would probably closer to mainstream production.
