Your last point is an easy sell for politicians...............since the majority in the USA don't own much. They are usually jealous of those who "have".

For several generations it was realized that our vastly improved standard of living came about from capitalism and the ability for hard working entrepreneurs to enrich themselves. Every day that goes by there is less appreciation of that fact. It's just human nature I reckon.

Admittedly though, when the biggest entrepreneurs are never allowed to fail, I can partially see why folks would become discouraged.
