Subject: RE: Gleaner F and K

Central Illinois - west of Peoria
we started out with a AII gleaner and then went to a later model K . Thought it had a 263 GM engine , we ran a 2-38 corn head and 13' grain head with hart carter floating sickle . It was ok in clean beans and 160 bu corn , any weedy beans you would start to hate life . One good thing was using the special bar and removing 2 bolts the whole concave opened up . The beater and raddle chain behind the cylinder were also a continuous source of head aches in less than ideal conditions . Never knew if they made a Hydro K ( maybe option on K2) but variable speed drive also like to be worked on frequently . I guess they would have been the same size as a IH 615 , Massey 300 , and deere 3300. It was a light built machine that didn't take much to keep it going .
