EC Illinois | If you're going continuous beans I'd recommend doing some cereal cover crop to get that rotation. It sucks up the extra N which is helpful for nodulation and weed suppression. Not to mention all the benefits of having growing plants in the soil year-round. The biomass from rye will suck up nutrients and time-release them for your beans too. I plan on doing a small continuous bean plot with cereal rye every fall and planting them green at boot stage and rolling at flowering. | |
