Best beans I ever raised were beans after beans. I think it was primarily because of perfect weather, and a good farm.... but obviously the field being in beans the prior year didn't hurt yield the second year.
I also think you can usually plant beans earlier when doing continuous beans which seems to help yield a lot of the time.
