And people on whine about a gear to gear transfercase........ Go figure! Oil pumps and belt drive... Cheaper to make, but more $$$ to maintain..... Kind of like HPCR fuel systems..... Great until you have to replace injectors then its time for the Vaseline with large sharp glASS chunks in it. Can buy a whole set of injectors for an older diesel than 1 HPCR injector in most cases.
Its designed into crap these days PM that is extensive and expensive which negates any efficiency gained by improved design or simplicity but only so the OWNER takes in the shorts. You will sell more new stuff this way vs very well engineered stuff that doesn't need this extensive expensive labor intensive periodic maintence on items such as belt driven oil pumps and overcomplexicated bull shirt!!!
