E.Central MN | Here they used to have the 1 building site/ 40 or maybe 80 acre or something like that. There was a lot of demand for housing so the county started encouraging builders to do subdivisions w/ multiple houses. But later they started getting worried about all those septic systems so close together and wanted those subdivisions to hook up to city sewers, except the subdivisions were way out in the country. Then they decided that because the housing demand was so high they would allow people to build houses on the lower valued land like small wooded sites or on land that wasn't prime agricultural land and gave variances to people who pleaded hardship(what a laugh). Also the county changed the ordinances about building on lake shore, now no one can build within a quarter mile of lake shore. It's Minnesota, if you wait a while things will change. Not always for the better... | |
