Just getting started and having a tough go of it have 6 live calves from heifers all doing good but have had 3 cows calve in the last 24 hours all three the same backwards and dead. By the smell of them dead for a bit before we see them calving. Bit of background first and second calvers are kept separate and being fed different for the last month before that fed the same as cows are getting now. Cows are getting switched in the morning. Talked to vet and nutritionist sending feed samples and a calf with placenta away to get tested Monday. Had 2 other cows abort earlier in the month one with twins but that’s happened before. Cattle business is a tough one some days. The feed is also the same feed I fed last winter barley silage, barley straw and millet.
