With the current farm bill it hard to lose money. Actually if under 200 cows it’s basically impossible too.


but that makes a dairy guy truly a serf to the government. Small dairies have been complaining for years that the big dairies are crushing them. But it sounds like, the government has responded and built a fail proof business model for dairies if they just take the welfare. The biggest problem would seem to be if there is an actual outlet to sell your milk to if you produce it. Does the government guarantee that, or is that no longer a problem. Not sure why a processor would want to process a mixture of 20 different farms milk with all different levels of quality and composition when one guy can deliver the same quantity at one single level of quality and specification that is consistent every single day.
