midatlantic | I'm a dairy farmer. I would love for your premise to be true. The reality is that uncle Sam threw a lot of money at dairy farmers last year and some farmers had the best year in a while. Production nationally is up significantly. Also the best dairy farmers rely heavily on high quality forage so inclusion of grain corn isn't that high an expense. At the end of the day grain prices impact milk prices but not as much as you might expect. | |
