central Ia | Last 2 times we were in Yellowstone we stayed in the park in the Old Faithful area but we started in Dec to book rooms, West Yellowstone has quite a few motels and I don't know about Gardiner. Check with the Park hotels you might still get a room but might have to change motels. Staying in the park as everyone has said is the best, we have stayed up to 5 days in the park and that to me is still not enough. Beartooth Pass, Chief Joseph Hiway, Tetons, Jackson is okay for about a half a day, way too many people. If coming from the Black Hills take Hiway 16 from Buffalo west or Hiway 14 or 14a. Start your day early it gets crowded at some site, have fun and enjoy | |
