Central IL
Lots of good places over 10 years of road travel for work. Can't remember all the names but some that stand out.

Rule number one when in unfamiliar restaurant. Order the local specialty.

Simpsonville South Carolina -- Little barbecue place downtown and Carolina Fine Foods on the Interstate.

Rocky Mount North Carolina -- Mexican Place in the old power plant on the river.

Hattiesburg Mississippi -- Shell Station Truck Stop South of town off the Highway Catfish filet to die for. Used to go there for Friday Catfish special for lunch and go back again for more at dinner time.

Bangor Maine -- Lobster Corn Chowder at almost any restaurant, especially the ones at Bar Harbor.

Wichita Kansas -- Overall best barbecue places in the country including one by the private airport on east side of town and one called 3 pigs as well as a few others. Overall best restaurant food of any of the 100+ bigger towns or cities I have worked in.

Milwaukee Wisconsin Area -- Solid #2 for best overall restaurant food
