Started out with early version of Dawn Pluribus, had issues with washing out in spring strips, due to slope have never tried fall strips. Ended up taking everything off that makes it a Pluribus and put Vantage II openers on with a Dawn coulter opposite to make a strip while running Dawn GFX row cleaners.

Locally know a few who tried fall strips with shank type machines and gave up from too wet or too dry or strips washing out from snow melt, at least spring is consistent, generally too wet but always goes in the ground.

Our hills are too sharp to run a 40’ bar, however, long parallel arms on Pluribus units have enough travel to work and also takes stress off of openers when hitting rocks. Vantage II need blades every few years aside from greasing, little maintenance, had extreme wet and removed wiper wheels so don’t have to replace wiper springs anymore. Should add we would not be able to pick up a full fledged 16 row strip machine and turn on steep headlands so have stayed with lite version.
