Completely agree with your mindset.
April planted population of 110,000 for 15" rows, with an emerged goal of 95-100K. I've not concerned myself too much with a 3-4 week emergence window, and soybeans definitely don't all need to emerge within 24-36 hours for maximum yield potential like corn does.
