Subject: RE: Row spacing for April beans?

Kent County MI
This spring I planted 30s with a 24 row 955 case ih planter. We had 90 acres of wheat that flooded out that I planted to beans in mid June 2 weeks after all the other beans were done. I planted those on 15 in with the 30 in planter. I just spun around and nudged the gps over 15 in. I planted them at 90k both passes. So that's 180k total population. I think they ran 45 bu average with heavy deer damage and no fertilizer. I think it depends on other factors also whether you switch from 30s to 15s or 7.5s. We have some ground that the deer destroyed the 30 in rows because they just went right down the row. We are debating planting those with the drill in 2 years to see if it helps. The drill we have is a 15 foot vs the 60ft bean planter if that says anything.
