first, good apples. Trees take time. So does fungicide, insect management, pruning, watering. Peeling is very important. Need sharp knives in our case. A good crust is also worth it's weight in gold. But it can also be simple too. We like to peel, cut and season (cinnamon and sugar our transparent apples) ours before putting them in the freezer because more hands during harvest, makes less work later. So in answer to your question pie= $314
