I know a person could NEVER get paid for the time that it takes and the worth of the pie. Years back, I'm pretty sure I was in my early teens maybe, my Grandma taught me how to make pies from scratch. Lard crusts, the fancy weaved tops, finger pinched crust edges, and all of that. I will never forget that afternoon when she taught me. I ended up experimenting with several different fruits. I think my pear pie was the best one, but needless to say, none ever got wasted. It's been a loooong time since I made one but still think of Grandma's talents. She was an absolute amazing baker and cook. I'm pretty sure she could take a plain cardboard box and turn it into a delicious 3 course meal.
