Iowa | I just tell them I'm only looking around and killing some time if I'm not ready to deal. If I am ready to deal it's simply a matter of an offer being made and taking it or leaving it. I don't haggle. They need to shoot me an acceptable price the first time or they need to accept my first offer. There is really nothing to negotiate after that as far as I am concerned. There is not much use in wasting each other's time. They can find other customers, and I can find other prospects as well. It's not like they can force anyone to open their wallet just like bankers do not force anyone to borrow money.
It does not really make a difference if they are pushy or not. It's been a long time since I've run into a pushy salesman. In that case, it's tempting for me to tell them how I've heard they are trained to not accept "no" for an answer until the third time, so my answer is, "no, NO, and HXXX NO!" | |
