Subject: RE: Illinois high school football

East Central Nebraska
I with you on this one Brian. Have a senior son also. Works his tail on at a job and loves his sports. He struggles with books and sports gives him a reason to study and get good grades otherwise I suppose next thing would be to pull the car keys. He got beat on in practice for 3 years, got in a few snaps last year and this year will be the starter. Nebraska ruled yesterday, sports is on. Practice starts Monday. I agree, sports are overkill, but I sure enjoy going to games. My dad always said sports was a waist of time too and I wasn't that great in high school and I played with all my heart. Every time I throw something in the trash can across the shop and it goes in, I tell the old man, see basketball did help me. LOL So take out sports, add in any activity, these are not farm kids anymore. If the inner cities, heck any town, no activities, what kind of trouble will the kids be getting into. Or how many additional kids getting into trouble that would probably not get into trouble.
