Subject: RE: Illinois high school football

North Central IL
I ran cross country and track. My senior year, I quit the track team to help out on the farm. I wasn't fast, but not many guys ran distance, so every point counted. The head track coach came to my classroom and pulled me into the hallway to talk. He told me I'd have my entire life to work and that I'd regret the decision my whole life. He couldn't have been more wrong. Very happy with the decision I made.

The good, Catholic school athletes who live across the street practice outside every day. They crank the car stereos playing gangbanger rap music, tons of F-bombs. I need to yank my little kids inside the house every time. IMO sports are a joke beyond about 12 years old. I hope kids continue worshipping sports though, so that the lakes and woods don't get filled up any worse.
