I have thought for years that the elevators should average the moisture on all the loads in a particular time frame or by an entire contract. They have the distinct advantage when you take them a load of dryer than needed grain.



If they would do this, what would prevent the OP from taking them 2 - 1,000 bu loads at 16% and 2 - 500 bu loads at 14% ? The average of the 4 loads would be 15%. This example could be taken to even greater extreme...


All load averaging is a weighted average.
