(1) for some folks it had been sharply above trend starting in 2014. Wildly above trend for some areas.
(2) when you don’t look at the whole picture you can easily bias your perspective from hearing from a small sample size on social media sharing their good fortune.
All I know about SD is that guys own 8K acres they bought cheap because it was wheat country, then corn got expensive, the belt shifted to warmer and wetter, and guys tiled everything and raise 200 bu corn with 48-row planters that they pay someone else to harvest then drive around and drink on snowmobile trails all winter when they aren’t in Florida.
