Melancthon, Ontario | "Here" there are a few east Indians who have immigrated from working farms. The 2 that I have dealt with personally are both cut from the same cloth, they ask you for advice, then tell you that you're wrong. Also seem to treat it like a day job, start working at 9, when the clock strikes 6 they shut down for the day. When working on farms with a busy highway, it happens once or twice a year that an east indian family will come and stop me in the field, want to take pictures and drive whatever machine I'm in. They claim to be from a farm in India, and when I say "I really don't have time for this I'm busy",, they look at me dumbfounded and say things like "But it's the weekend, or it's 8 at night!" Make me wonder if farming in arid climates is treated more like a regular job. | |
