You are showing your age. :>) When I was young, 1940's '50's virtually every man and many or most women were smokers. This was in an urban/suburban setting. I never really started not because of health but because I was too damn cheap to spend close to an hour's wages for cigarettes. Thankful I didn't get hooked when I was trying to look cool.
