Yes, it was. Had several farms zero out on corn that year and it was not an exaggerated adjustment, there was just nothing there. Corn was trying to tassle on the fourth of July and there was a brief shower that rolled through the area, less than a tenth. After the little shower, it was like the corn boiled and turned a very pale green, the party was over. Funny things that stick in your mind (hopefully with some accuracy) about the time Elvis passed away, it started to rain. That fall it was so wet that we had trouble getting the few fields that produced a little something harvested. A lot of other areas had very good crops and not too far home. Cash corn was .99 briefly at harvest time.
