Mum (72 years of age and nursing since she was 18)who is a nurse on a Covid 19 ward said pretty much the same. There is a donning and doffing proceedure that they had to be trained for. Sneeze in your mask once and it has to come off. Do not wear you mask or any of your PPE of the ward. 2 hours max for the mask. Do not touch it. IIRC, the masks in operating theaters is more to stop the medics coming into contact with what ever bodily fluids that comes of the patient. I don't recall the vets I saw doing C-Sections on cows wearing masks. |
