How much is the fuel pump putting out and when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? There is an electronic shutoff needle valve on the bottom of the carb that I have had stick shut before also. I just take it out if I have problems with them. You CAN put the throttle control linkage on wrong so it won't throttle up.
