Fontanelle, IA | If you are starting out, I would forget the roundbaler unless you are feeding your own cows. If your brome hay is as good as it sounds, then your small acres are prime candidate for small squares.
Take your mower and mow 4-5 acres every 3 to 4 days so that you aren't having to kill yourself baling all 20 acres by yourself. Spread out the "making" risk. after 1st cutting, if you want to bale all 20 acres at once, then go for it.... racks and a older baler wont set you back "that" much. make sure you have a building/barn/lean to store your bounty.
