Subject: Looking for advice on haying

Have about 40 acres of grass, 20 ofnwhic is very good hay ground, mainly brome. Soil is extremely Sandy and once it hits late June, the grass starts going backwards pretty quick. Not a huge hay area around here and with only 20 acres I can't get anyone to come until late June when the grass is past it's prime. Been doing 50/50 shares. Should I look into buying my own hay equipment (well used likely) and do it myself when I think it should be done in early June? Or should I just forget about it and keep doing what we've been doing? Thanks for any advice.

Already have 100 hp tractor.
