The market isn't necessarily being complacent. The market is just being realistic. A 3.3 billion carryover despite a demand increase of over a billion year over year leaves a lot of wiggle room. No reason to not assume trend yields or better(possibly much better). Crops don't just burn up in a week no matter how much teeth gnashing there is on here and especially with high ratings and decent soil moisture in many locales. Waiting for that 1 in 20 drought is a very risky play because trends say it rains in the Midwest in summer.

So all that is left is either acreage or a major major yield adjustment from last year(which has never occurred). This isn't a situation where 5 bu off of yield or 1 million less acres will move the market.
