Thumb of Michigan | Have a friend who works in the home office of a regional insurance company here. They closed the office down in early March. Set up many with in home internet and computer systems- whatever it took to work from home. Talking with her husband last week, company has been contacting employees and wife told him that of the 400 employees at the office, half would not be returning to the offices to work. At least not full time, they would continue to work at home.
She's getting by working at home, but reading between the lines she'd rather go back to the office. I've been teasing her husband some- she's getting a preview of retirement life with him being around most of the time, and she may realize she needs a break occasionally. A year ago, she was looking forward to retirement. Doesn't bring it up much now. | |
