Older tractors have a hard time with the newer planters & drills because the engineers are developing these new ideas around a different tractor platform. I have a 2001 planter with more Hyd than my 1978 4640 can handle-sure it can pull it but its slow-maybe a 4755 or 4760 would be better. But I use a 8100 & its just enough on Hyd with a 30 gal hyd pump & I suppose for newer planters it lacks something.
